The itinerary was great but i wouldn't recommend this trip because several of the hotels were subpar. This was our third Insight tour and we will not be traveling with you again. The hotel in Bath was exceptionally bad.

We flew into London when we could've flown into Edinburgh. No one contacted us To let us know that we could fly directly into Edinburgh and not waste Hotel costs. The hotels were marginally bad as well as the food at events. He certainly can tweak this tour.

*Personal information removed by Feefo* and *Personal information removed by Feefo* couldn't do enough for us. *Personal information removed by Feefo* purchased bananas for everyone when hotel didn't have any. My only complaint was the hotels. Coffee makers broken and breakfast options were the same everyday. Several hotels had views of walls and pipes. Lots of great scenery and small villages. A long bus trip with frequent stops. The guide and driver were excellent. Hotels were old with many broken amenities like air conditioning. Lots of steps to navigate if you have mobility issues.

Review of trip. Elegant Britain 9/1-9/12 Some items are out of the control of the Tour Director. Flights- arranged through Insights with British Air. Additional charges to select seats cost an additional $360 US. (This for the international flights with upgrade seats.) Tour- NAME TAGS!!! at least the first few days The amount of time spent on the coach was greater than expected. The day between Windermere and York totaled 4 - 5 hrs. on the coach. Then another 35-40 minutes each way for dinner- I was ready to jump from the walls of York! Consider doing that dinner the following night. After a long day on the coach, something close by. Would have liked additional free time in York. Most disappointing/waste of time-Gretna Green. The 'centerpiece' of their history was closed. It was a glorified toilet break. Hotels- This was our fifth Insights Tour so we know there's always going to be a quirky Hotel-that would be Bath. The disappointing hotel was the Doubletree in York. The location is fantastic! The hotel staffs concern to room issues, not so good. Their breakfast area showed complete confusion and inability to handle a full restaurant. On the other hand, I thought the Doubletree in Stratford had their act together. Coach-comfort wise, great. Thankful for the USB ports. lan is an excellent driver. It would have been nice to have a narrative while in the coach for all those hours - what area were we traveling through? Is there any historical significance? Any tv/movies filmed in the area? We stayed in a lovely hotel in a lovely town in the Lake District. But why did we get on the coach early to go to another village which was much smaller, and in which most of the shops were not open? We passed through rather nice villages along the way. You might consider including an optional ticket for entrance into Salisbury Cathedral - was very disappointed when we were not able to enter, even for prayer, without paying. Local guides/experts- All were very good. The Guides we had in Bath & Edinburgh were best in show. Meals- 3rd trip with Insights since Bob went on pescatarian based diet. Number of the venues had no seafood entree. Final Dinner the group was split up and seated in different rooms. Our small group joked' that we were at the 'kids table: Not a way to say Goodbye to the group. London End- very non-Insights. Respectfully submitted,

Really enjoyed our local guide Katrina in Edinburgh but our Travel Director Alex was poor- in communication, in understanding people, he's really not suited to the job! Wished we'd had Shauna, the Tour Director for Insight Tour of Italy. Our coach driver lan was excellent! Only liked The Thistle Marble Arch Hotel in London, very disappointed in the other hotels: broken down, cold. bathrooms too small, shower doors don't keep water in the shower, it goes all over the floor! Our 2012? Insight tour in Italy & our own tour of France 2008 had way better hotels For some people, it's ok, but for others it's too many stops in small towns, which wasn't as interesting as I thought it would be. I realize now I prefer only the big cities like London & Edinburgh, Paris, Vienna, etc In the Lake District, it would be improved if you include a 30-60 min walk in the green hills. And for literary types, more about Thomas Hardy, Blake, Shelley, Keats,

Alex was great. Very knowledgeable. lan the driver was very skilled It was nicely laid out. The "lecture" on the Brontes was very dry boring. Felt very school like. That is the only thing we would skip.

They take great care of your bags. And driver was very kind and considerate. It would have been nice if we could have been directed to a few more gardens. I enjoyed the teas & dinners at out of the way places like Ardgowan & Thirsk Hall. I was a bit disappointed by what the itinerary calls "cozy comfort" in an English pub. It was more of a modern chain restaurant in a dated building.

Tour director Alex Golovco went over and beyond the call of duty by treating everyone to a culinary delight from each region so as to fully experience the culture For example he brought us to the oldest house in Bath for tea and a Lundy bun with Clotted Cheese and Jam. Be prepared to walk between 12.000 to 20000 steps a day

Tour director was very good, as was our driver. Bags were managed well, except in one location (problem was with the hotel). Meals - included and optional - were generally fine. Would not recommend most optional tours - limited value. The best tours were Ardowyn, Brontë Parsonage, and Bath walking tour excellent guides. By far, what made this worth it was the Military Tattoo -unforgettable.

The Insight travel planners did a great job putting together an itinerary that was interesting and educational without being too tightly scheduled. The local guides were all quite knowledgeable and made the tours interesting and fun. The hotels, with one exception (Bath) were all comfortable and well located for exploration on our own. Gil kept everything running smoothly, which we know takes a lot of work behind the scenes. He even handled what must be one of the most difficult occurrences, the death of one of our travel companions the first night, with composure and understanding. The only thing that we would see for improvement is pre-tour communication for guests starting in London. We had not received any information from Guest Services regarding the plan for traveling to Edinburgh the day after we arrived in London. We were able to email Gil, who was already in Edinburgh, and he gave us the basic plan. We did finally hear from Guest Services that evening but it would have been much better to have had that information before we arrived. We booked this trip because it offered the opportunity to visit sites off the beaten path, traveling through areas that had been featured on television shows that we enjoyed, and it did not disappoint. The pace of the trip was perfect, with two nights at most points along the way. This gave us time to enjoy the guided tours with time on our own to explore. Just as important the travel time on the coach from one place to another was not too long and was generally broken up with interesting stops along the way. Some of these, such as our stop in the village of Haworth to visit the Brontë parsonage and museum, turned out to be unexpected highlights of the trip. While we had not realized it when we started, the trip became a walk through centuries of English and Scottish literature. Gil, our Insight Travel Director, was knowledgeable and personable, keeping us entertained and informed on every leg of the trip. He even arranged an unscheduled stop in Oxford where he conducted a shout impromptu tour. The only change that we would recommend to the published itinerary is to eliminate Gretna Green as a featured stop; it was a fine place for a rest stop but did not warrant more than 30 or 40 minutes. We would definitely recommend this trip to anyone interested in the history and culture of Great Britain.

You are very well taken care of while traveling with Insight. Great guides and bus drivers. You make trips to local restaurants representing the local inhabitants. Happy with having two nights at each venue. Loved seeing the countryside on a very comfortable bus with a tour guide who was very knowledgeable, most courteous and a enjoyable sense of humor!

The tour itself with "Personal information removed by Feefo* was great. However the communication from Insight admin was very poor. My friend and I met up with each other in Glasgow. Insight were aware we were leaving Australia prior to the Insight tour. Neither of us received a copy of the itinerary prior to meeting *Personal information removed by Feefo* in Edinburgh. He then photo copied a copy of itinerary for us. This was very poor customer service from Insight Admin. The end of the tour was ambiguous to all participants on the tour as no one knew at which hotel the tour would conclude due to different info being given to individuals on the tour. I was also not happy when I heard that one traveller who was given a different hotel by your admin had to get her own way to the other hotel at her own expense. This is not how to have a good customer relationship with your clients/ *Personal information removed by Feefo* himself did everything he could to ensure that we all enjoyed our journey with your company. Enjoyed itinerary but would have like a little more time in some locations

Travel Director and bus drivers were all excellent. Busy tour. Lots of interesting excursions. Some of the hotels were older but all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bus itself was very comfortable. I am 6'3" and had lots of leg room. The only negative is how we were dropped off at our last stop, our hotel in London. It was rather abrupt. The bus parked on the street in front of the hotel, handed us our luggage and left. Lots to do. Many interesting locations. Also had time to explore on our own.
