It was magical, a life changing experience. Your customer service was great, providing tour guides, transportation, the best hotels. For everything I received, the cost, the hotels, staff was just great.

Trafalgar was on top of it all, from arrival to departure even the tour guide called to check in on us one day in Capetown when we decided not to go on an excursion. You may want to check out other excursions in Capetown and Johannesburg.

Essence of South Africa. The travel directors were very knowledgeable and hospitable. The staff at all of the hotels were friendly and helpful. The Safari was awesome-easily 5 stars! However, the Cape Town and Johannesburg itineraries were somewhat lacking. All in all we enjoyed Cape Town, but there was almost too much free time when I believe there was lots more to see and do. Surprisingly there were no excursions (I.e., Robben Island, shark cage diving, etc.). The coast tour was great, as was the visit to Cape Point and Boulder Beach, and the winery meal was wonderful. More time in Stellenbosch would have been nice. Lots of shopping to squeeze into an hour. As for a Johannesburg, I understand the tour must end there since all flights seem to go out of there. However, while the Road to Freedom tour was very interesting, there was very little to see and do in Johannesburg other than that tour. The city itself is too dangerous for tourists to even go into. Anything following the Safari would be a let down, but finishing the tour in Johannesburg kind of ends it all on a down note. Not sure how they can address that, though.

Arrangements worked like a well-oiled clock. Guides and drivers were great. Experience at Cape Town was great, private safari park very good as a resort, however numbers of game animals few. Think we would benefit from an extra day in Johannesburg - Soweto experience a real plus.

All staff were polite, pleasant, punctual and knowledgeable. Itinerary was excellent, however there was a clash with a public holiday in Johannesburg resulting in missing a museum. Coaches were good size for the number of participants. Hotels in Cape Town and Becks Safari Lodge were excellent. Our room in the hotel in Johannesburg was not clean and had an odd placement of the shower - and was not of the same standard as the first two.

Amazing trip! The hotels were very nice, the safari experience was amazing. Tour guides were super nice and informative. Restaurants were so so, especially since I'm very picky about having good food. I really didn't care about Johannesburg at all since there was not much to see, so for that I think its a waste of time and money for to go there, but the only thing that made nice was meeting our smiley face tour guide Patricia. Over all South Africa has been my number one trip and best experience of my life. It was worth every penny.

Excellent tour, well chosen itinerary and African safari was beyond expectation. Very good service, value for money, good hotels and all the staff through the tour were very courteous. Very well informed tour guides. Excellent tour. Anything more would be waste of money.

Overall this was an excellent tour. The Cape Town section was great with a wide variety of sites to visit. The lunch at Penguino in Hermanus was delicious and hilarious. The Cullinan Hotel was very good and we appreciated the visit to the District Six museum - an eye opener. However, the transition to Hoedspruit was poor - we were not given our flight times, the flight was delayed for 5 hours, there was no direct communication with Trafalgar. That was redeemed at the Karongwe game reserve - great game viewing (Big 5 + cheetahs in 2 days) with skilled rangers and simple, comfortable accommodation. The food was good except, surprisingly, the meat was tough. The staff there were very courteous and friendly. The brief visit to Johannesburg was very good: the guided tours to the Old Fort Prison and new Constitutional Court and to Regina Mundi church and other sites in Soweto were really great. As former South Africans, we thought this tour gave all of us an excellent, short overview of the Cape, the Bush and Johannesburg. And we appreciated the personalized attention to detail from Trafalgar s guides.
