Itinerary
Today your adventure begins. You’ll meet your guides and your fellow travellers, and then we’ll load up the safari vehicles and be on our way. Passing through the Great Rift Valley, we’ll get to our Maasai Mara lodge just in time for lunch – and then head out for our first game drive. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife large and small as we make our way across those magnificent rolling hills.
Accommodation: Sentrim Mara (or similar)
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
After an early breakfast, you'll get the chance to head out on a hot air balloon ride to check out the African Savannah as the sun rises. Then, after a champagne breakfast to top it all off, you'll rejoin the morning's game drive. At midday, we’ll head back to the lodge for lunch and a swim, and then embark on our second game drive this afternoon – in search of Africa's elusive big cats. The Maasai Mara is the setting for one of nature’s greatest phenomena: The Great Migration. If you’re here at the right time of year, you’ll have the chance to witness millions of wildebeest and zebras en route to greener pastures.
Accommodation: Sentrim Mara (or similar)
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Rise and shine, Kenyan explorers! With the Maasai Mara lodged firmly in our memories (and our hearts), we'll make our way back to Nairobi this morning - where plenty more magic awaits. This afternoon we head back to Nairobi, where something truly special awaits us. We'll visit the Kibera Slum to see the incredible work being done by the Mirror of Hope Foundation - working to break the cycle of poverty through education, helping the women and children to improve their quality of life. Afterwards, the afternoon is yours to relax and choose from a variety of hotel restaurants with views of the Nairobi National Park.
Accommodation: 2.5.4. Ole Sereni (or similar)
Meals: Breakfast
Back in Nairobi, we'll have the chance to take a unique game drive in Nairobi National Park. Keep your eyes peeled for waterholes, cityscapes and the elusive white rhino too. We'll also visit the Sheldrick Elephant rehabilitation nursery to watch baby elephants play and bathe in the water (the most beautiful chaotic mess you'll ever encounter), and hear the fascinating story of their road to recovery too. After a picnic lunch and a visit to a local Curio shop, we’ll head for our lodge (right on the edge of the Amboseli National Park, might we add, with views of Mt Kilimanjaro too!) to enjoy a delicious included dinner.
Accommodation: Sentrim Amboseli (or similar)
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
After our morning's buffet breakfast, we will do a short safari walk to a Maasai village, guided by Maasai warriors as they teach us about their culture and everyday lives co-existing with wild animals. After lunch we will head out to Amboseli National Park, famous for its iconic shots of elephants and wildlife feeding in the foreground while the peak of Africa rises in the background: Mt Kilimanjaro. It's a photographer's dream, and it's all yours. Our final dinner in Kenya will be included back at the lodge.
Accommodation: Sentrim Amboseli (or similar)
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Our last day of this incredible trip will send us off with a bang, including one last morning game drive through the Amboseli to the Tanzania border. We then head back to Nairobi for drop-offs at Nairobi Airport or our hotel in Nairobi. With full hearts and memories, here is where we'll say fond farewells to our Africa adventure and our new Contiki family.

It can also be attributed to the New Zealand slang 'Tiki-tour' describing taking a longer route to a destination in order to explore.[5]

I highly recommend this trip. The accommodations, guide, and activities were all top notch, especially for the price point. Kenya is a beautiful country with welcoming people and incredible animals to be discovered! It's a fast paced tour with lots to do, and the only thing I would do to improve this trip agenda would be to add another full day at Masai Mara (but keep everything else the same). It was just so magical, I'd of loved another day (I guess I'll just have to come back!). That being said, the other activities such as the masaii village, mirrors of hope tour, elephant sanctuary etc. were all so incredible too. Don't miss out! Do this trip!!

I went into the trip with no expectations and came out with the best experiences! Our trip manager, *Personal information removed by Feefo*, was extremely knowledgeable and let me pick his brain about everything - the wildlife, the culture in Kenya, the way politics and the system works, and much more. In fact, any time we were stopped during the actual safari, it felt like *Personal information removed by Feefo* and *Personal information removed by Feefo* were the only ones giving us updates and information on the wildlife while the other vehicles were silent. We were lucky enough to see all of the Big 5, but even luckier to see much more than that (and ask *Personal information removed by Feefo*, and our other driver, *Personal information removed by Feefo*, so many questions!). I think my favorite part of the trip was the Masai Village tour, which was such an unique experience to learn how different societies live. I love that Contiki takes the time to go into the community and give us that immersive experience. A few things to keep in mind for those that are interested: 1. It's a lot of sitting and driving around since we're going from park to park. This is awesome because you get to see wildlife in so many different places but if you're like me with creaky bones, you may get a bit stiff. 2. On Day 7, you get dropped off near the airport. That whole morning, you will be going on a game drive and by the end we were pretty dusty. If we were going to do it differently, we would probably have flown out the next day but since we didn't we ended up at the hotel, a few of us got a day room and showered, since we felt pretty gross, before hopping on our flights. Definitely plan this into your itinerary! 3. This is a part of a modular trip that goes from Kenya to Tanzania. I was just able to do the Kenya part but it would have been awesome to have gone to Tanzania as well! All in all, I would highly, HIGHLY recommend this trip. This was my first Contiki trip and it exceeded my expectations so much that I've already booked another for next year. Thank you again to my whole group, *Personal information removed by Feefo*, *Personal information removed by Feefo*, and the mastermind behind the Africa operations at Contiki (iykyk) for this amazing trip!

This was a once in a lifetime trip and I loved everything about it. I am so glad I was able to enjoy Africa and Contiki made it affordable and possible!! It's hard for me to put into words how unbelievable this trip was. This was my first ever Contiki trip and definitely not my last. My friend and I decided to book this trip because we needed a reset. We chose the Kenyan Highlights trip because we wanted adventure but also wanted to immerse ourselves in a different culture. I thought I would only be able to go to Africa when I was more settled in my life but Contiki made it super affordable and the itinerary was really incredible. I can't say enough about our tour manager, *Personal information removed. He is one of the most incredible human beings and now someone I am able to call a friend. He made this trip 100 times better. I am incredibly grateful to have met him and I hope I will see him again! Don't think, just go - book this trip!

An unforgettable experience. Multiple core memories made with an incredible bunch of humans. The days were often long, but packed full of adventure. Our tour guides were extremely informative, happily sharing and educating us on wildlife, their communities and culture. I feel very fortunate to have experienced Kenya. Lastly, for anyone travelling solo, I couldn't have felt safer. Please don't hesitate to book! You won't regret it!

I had an amazing time on the Kenya Safari trip! Everything was taken care of and organized so well, from the quality of the food to accomodation. Haron was the perfect trip manager who briefed us every day so we would know what to expect. We were extremely lucky with all the animals we saw, but it was also because of the efforts made by the trip managers. The add-ons were worth it and I dare say, with this trip you might end up doing some activities you probably wouldn't do if you were on your own/with family. So I would definitly recommend this trip! Trip was easy to book. Only point of criticism is that they told me that the 2 nights prior accomodation weren't available, but when I checked booking.com, there was still plenty availability at the specific hotel. So I made that reservation by myself.

This trip is fantastic! I always wanted to go to Kenya and initially was a bit worried about safety since I was a female travelling solo and this was my first group tour so didn't really know what to expect but I can say I felt absolutely so so safe and welcomed by Kenya and the the tour leaders! You get such an amazing itinerary, you do and see so much, with loads of experiences that are unique which you won't get with other tours. *Personal information removed by Feefo* and *Personal information removed by Feefo* are amazing, you'll absolutely have the best time! Value for money is insane, accommodation is great, everything was just perfect for my first trip to Kenya, I'm so glad I booked it! Would recommend to everyone! I'd do the whole trip all over again! Excellent! Sometimes would have to wait a while on the phone but nothing crazy! Contiki would answer all my questions/concerns as quickly as possible. I would say with my trip it would have been nice for the chat to open sooner but apart from that it was great.
