Itinerary
Day 1: Bangkok
So you made it! How was your flight? How much free wine have you drunk? Fear not, we're already at the airport in Bangkok, ready and waiting to scoot you off to your new home. Get settled, meet the rest of your group and find your tribe. As the evening arrives with the last of our group, we're heading to the bustling Khao San Road for a true Thai dining experience!
Day 2: Bangkok
YOU'RE ON A BOAT. That's right, we're not scrimping here. We're off with a bang and after last night's boozing, we thought a river cruise was a far more appealing way to take in the sights of Thailand's capital. We'll make our way along the Chao Phraya River, where you'll explore Bangkok & experience some of Thailand's heritage. We're keeping things cultural today and will visit two prestigious temples – Wat Arun and Wat Pho, to see the very impressive giant & gold reclining Buddha statue. Make sure you have your shoulders covered! The rest of the day is free for exploring, you may want to try some of the famous shopping in Bangkok as it's known for being notoriously cheap. Remember to always try and barter with the street vendors, you can sometimes get as much as 50% off the original price! The same applies to your taxis! Post-shopping trip, we'll reconvene for more food, drinks and some wild antics for the evening.
Day 3: Bangkok/Khao Sok
Feeling a little fragile? Us too. Ease off the hangover with a massage, we would recommend an oil massage (bare in mind that a traditional Thai massage may not be as relaxing as you may think), before jumping aboard on the sleeping train for the night. Which is an experience as authentic as it comes! You'll get your very own bed on the train, and it's a great place to get to know the rest of your group. Watch as the bustle of Bangkok melts away and in its place, striking scenes of the tranquil lake of Khao Sok National Park – situated in the Surat Thani province of Thailand.
Day 4: Khao Sok
Now we've got another treat for you. We're not only staying on floating bungalows tonight, but you're also on a freshwater lake, surrounded by a chirping tropical rainforest. You wanted a great adventure and we've given it to you. There are plenty of things to do in Khao Sok. Throw on your swimmers, as we make our way there via longtail boats, stopping on the way for a quick dip! Try your hand at some kayaking or chill with a beer in a tube in front of the stunning backdrop of the surrounding limestone mountain range. It's pretty spectacular if we do say so ourselves and we hope you're having the time of your life. We know we are.
Day 5: Khao Sok/Koh Phangan
It's time for an early start, not bad for your fifth day in. Fear not, we've made breakfast anyway. We'll be aboard a ferry & heading East to Koh Phangan once the coffee and eggs are down. When we arrive, BRACE. Oh, because we're about to introduce you to our best-kept secret and our favourite beach in the world. YEAH, NO BIGGIE. It's quiet, amazingly beautiful, only accessible by boat, and to make it better, we pretty much get the whole place to ourselves, staying in beach huts overlooking the ocean. Yes, we're showing off. We hope you love it. Once you're acquainted with the secluded paradise of Bottle Beach in Koh Phangan; relax here for the rest of the afternoon, enjoy a bit of volleyball, sunbathing or swimming. In the evening we can enjoy dinner & some cocktails on the beach next to a campfire with our own private fire show. It doesn't get much better than this!
Day 6: Koh Phangan
The sun is beaming, the waves are crashing around you as you crack your eyes open. TruFam snoozing in nearby beds. Are you in Heaven? Maybe. Take it easy and don't rush yourself anywhere today. Make the most of your surroundings. Your options are limitless; go kayaking, play volleyball, top up the tan, trek to viewpoints or enjoy a lie-in. We'll be collected early-afternoon and taken to a local gym, where you can try your hand at a bit of Muay Thai boxing, Thailand's national sport. Afterwards, we're off to our new home, where we will spend the final nights of the trip. Naturally, it's got a great bar and the vibes are unrivalled. What did you expect from us?!
Day 7: Koh Phangan
Today is the day to scope out the underwater world of Koh Phangan, snorkelling at the coolest hot spots around the tropical island. Naturally, we'll stop off at some of the best beaches around Koh Phangan, where again, this is a chance to take the island as you like. You might think it couldn't get any better, but it does; you'll receive a drink on us on arrival onto the boat & a spot of lunch on us whilst listening to (excellently selected) music throughout the day. Drawing the evening and our trip to an end, it's time for a farewell dinner with your TruFam. Finally, as the moon pools over the beaches, we'll hit the beach bars for one final big night to send the adventure off together.
Day 8: Koh Phangan
Today is, unfortunately, check out day (we're not crying, you're crying). But that doesn't mean this is goodbye forever. We're on hand to plan the next legs of your Thailand adventure, whether you want to continue the party in Koh Phangan or need help getting home safe. Wherever you're off to, let's wallow together and reminisce on the horrible things we all did last night for a bucket of free booze. TruFam forever.

Just DO IT!! I went on this tour with big expectations, so much so that I was scared it would not live up to the hype- BUT IT DID. AND SO MUCH MORE!

The original TruTravels tour and the one that initially gave me a travel bug! This was the perfect introduction to Southeast Asia and the rest for me is history. For me it wasn't just the sick itinerary and activities, but the lifelong friendships and memories you make while traveling on a group trip.

We started our tour in Phuket city where we met up with Gun at our hotel, had a few hours to settle in and have a look around, dinner was lovely on Patong beach, had a wander around the town and filled in with culture about the surroundings from Gun

8 day Thailand experience with papsii and tappi. Had a great on the tour. Had the opportunity to do a lot of stuff I wouldn't be able to do on my own. Met some great people. The guides were really good at making it fun and teaching us about the Thai culture. The also gave us the opportunity to do our own thing, giving us a lot of independence and free time. I would definitely do it again. It was quality.

I am so glad I did this trip. Took me outside my comfort zone and we were doing stuff all the time (free time if you wanted it but options to do more). Papsii was outstanding, such a fun tour guide and told us loads of information about Thailand itself so I feel like I know the environment and culture much better now. Lots of fun, perfect way to learn about Thailand while having fun and lots of drinking ?? Papsii also helped us with planning some things to do in Thailand after the tour which was so useful and very grateful for it.

What an experience! This really was the trip I was wanting, so many different beautiful destinations and with so many great people. Day 1 we were picked up from the airport by Grace, one of the 3 interns on the trip (the other 2 were Ming and Oat). We were made to feel welcome straight away. We met with the group on the first night for dinner and it was a mixed bag of different ages and background, which was great as plenty to talk to. Our tour guide “Gun” is the what I expected from a trip like this, he was so much fun, always cracking jokes, making us laugh in his strange was and his singing but at the same time was professional in what he does, made us all feel safe, gave us tons of local knowledge in different destinations and was an all round great guy. The 3 interns that were on the tour for the first part were so cool. Grace was so sweet and funny but helped us soo much with info. Ming was really fun and got everyone involved in the activities especially dancing! And then there was my Thai brother from another mother, such a cool guy and so so much fun, really did bring life to the party and introduced us all to the “Tiki Tiki Tonga” chant that was a hit with all on the nights out! All in all I had an amazing time and experience that I will never forget and some amazing people and memories that I will treasure forever! My experience was so great with Tru Travels, that I will now be applying to work for Tru in Bali and hope to give people the best experience ever!!

Grace came and picked us up from the airport in Bangkok she was really friendly messaging us to make sure we knew she would be there and she got the taxi to the hotel with us and told us what there was in the area for us to see. She was always contactable for any questions or problems even before our tour started. We then met Ming and Oat the following day on the first night of the tour who were so friendly and took the time to get to know us and spend the time with us. We also met our tour guide Gun who is so friendly, outgoing and knowledgeable. Grace, Ming, Oat and Gun have made this whole experience amazing with their support, fun and knowledge of the places. They were all constantly taking pictures of the whole group having fun making memories that will last a lifetime. The first 8 days with Ming, Grace and Oat was so lovely as they are doing such a great job, they are all going to be such great tour leaders! Nothing was ever too much to ask any of them and they always checked to make sure you are okay! Thank you to all of them for making the experience amazing!

I did the 14 day Thailand island hopper as a solo traveller. The trip was full of well planned activities. We were really lucky to have a tour guide, Gun, plus 3 interns, Ming, Ote and Grace and they kept us fully informed with what the daily itinerary was. Gun took lots of really nice group photos of us all in some beautiful places and was really knowledgable about some of the places we were visiting. All the accommodations were lovely and clean. The over night ferry and over night train were experiences within their selves which you need a strong stomach for! My favourite location was kho Tao, it was a beautiful island with lots to do and I could have easily stayed there for another week! personally I would have missed out kho Phangan, although the mad monkey hostel was lovely, the vibe was very loud and full of young party goers, their reps on occasion would make you feel uncomfortable if you said you didn’t want to join in, but Gun always made sure we were ok. The tour has been jam packed with stuff to do but we have had full flexibility so if there’s something we were not too fussed about we were under no pressure to not take part. I recommend tru travels and the island hopper tour but be mindful it is very full on, but worth it with the sites and experiences you see

The 14 day Thailand Island Hopper was fantastic, I loved every minute. I went as a solo traveller and found the tour to be perfect for me and it was very easy to meet other people. Gun was a great group leader, he made sure everyone was having fun and organised loads of really good activities. Oat, Ming and Grace were so kind and helpful, they did a brilliant job as the interns. Oat’s song was one of the funniest moments of the trip and I’m sure he has a great career as a singer ahead of him but he would also make a fantastic tour guide. Ming and Grace were also always so happy and smiley and I was so glad the interns were on the tour. My favourite place we stayed on the tour was Koh Phi Phi and the Monkey Beach was amazing. I’m really looking forward to my next Tru Travels tour!

Thank you oat, Ming, grace and gun! I will Miss yo

Had a great time on the trutravels 8 day Thailand experience! Saw so many places and experiences that I would not have done had I organised the trip on my own like Khao Sok river bungalows and Bottle beach. Papsii was amazing and made the trip really fun with super high energy whilst being very informative!

8 days Thailand Experience Tour was one that did not disappoint. The crew was very accomodating, great help from start to finish, massive thanks to Oat, Ming and Grace, the interns who helped us during the tour. From airport pick up to organising additional accommodation to helping with planning the next adventure. Not to forget the tour guide himself Mr Gun, you are as your name suggest a Gun. I cannot thank you guys enough for making those few days one to remember. KOB KHUN KRAB.. I hope we meet again..

Boom was an amazing leader. The floating bungalows were very cute and in a beautiful location! my favourite accommodation was the bottle beach bungalows as our one was so pretty and it had a nice hot shower! I did not like the overnight train as it was very very loud and I never managed to sleep, however I am glad that I have experienced it! my room at the mad monkey hostel was horrible and the bathroom is tiny and had bugs, they also lost alot of my washing which was stressful! I loved the temples and the boat cruise but I feel like I expected to do a lot more activities and less time being spend travelling from one location to the next! My group is really nice which definitely adds to the experience and I hope to meet up with some of them in the future!

Overall, the tour was amazing as well as our guide Ali. He was very funny, caring, friendly and helpful. The itinerary was nice as well, though I would prefer not to rush and stay in every spot for more than one day. The activities could be a bit reorganized as well.

It was a great experience! Out of your daily routine... prepare for such much adventure and beautiful scenes. Our guide Ali was so great even we don't speak their language he was always there explaining everything to us and helping us during the tour. He also arranged our next days in Thailand. Ali Sexy Boy the best!! ???? I would recommend to do more days tour because it was to short and also being more time in bottle beach!!! It was a very long trip to get there just for a few hours. Overall it was amazing!!!
